It's a small cozy place. Appetizers were very tasty but some items were kind of small. The lamb was over cooked but the other items were good. The sushi was excellent so I definitely will go back. Parking sucks during peak hours, I had to park on the street. Please see my pics on what I ate.
A friend who lives in Honolulu turned us on to this nice sushi bar tucked away in a strip mall about 10 minutes from Waikiki. It's a good value but with trade offs. Food: Most of our food was above-average to excellent. The mushroom medley was perfect. The baby octopus appetizer was fantastic. But the sushi combo for $52was a mixed bag. Most of the sushi was good. I saved the tuna until the end, and it had a slightly "off" and acidic note. Drinks: Had Orion beer from Okinawa and it paired well with the sushi Service: OK service but here's a trade off. We ordered everything at once, and it all came out practically at the same time. We should have ordered in waves to better time our meal. Also, the staff is a bit overworked and not very attentive. Ambiance: simple working class sushi bar Value: Overall better than average value but the sushi is not perfect like other sushi places in Honolulu
Delicious little gem tucked away at a small plaza. Tried the chef omakase which is basically customizable to how many pieces of nigiri sushi that your heart desires roughly $10/piece. They come 4 pieces at a time. Quite full already after 8 pieces but forgot to stop the chef and I was greedy for uni so ended up eating 15 pieces. Haha Super fresh raw fish especially the Australian langostino (small lobster) and Kinki fish and house marinated ikura. Overall very good value compared to other omakase I have researched.
Best sushi I've ever had. The unagi was incredible in quality and size. Service was very very good. Hole in the wall place and a little hard to find, but well worth it!!
Phenomenal service and outstanding food. Owner Garrett was very welcoming and knowledgable. The also have rare Japanese and American whiskey. I ordered the Sushi Moriawase along with bone marrow eggplant.
